Hello, Today I worked on the migration of a SmartCenter/Eventia Reporter server to a new machine at one of my customer's offices, the have that machine running Windows 2000 and NGX R65 (No HFAs) and everything worked perfect (including Eventia Reporter).
A new machine was acquired to take that old server's place, this one runs Windows 2003 and I moved to it an upgrade_export file, made sure IP address and hostname were identical and ran the installation disk, told it to install "using a configuration file" and everything ran smoothly, once finished, rebooted the machine and the SmartDashboard running on the same machine worked with no problems, SIC with existing firewall modules was tested successfully, logs were received and shown in SV Tracker, but SV Monitor showed a problem with Eventia Reporter, when I tried to open it an error message came up with the following contents: "Eventia Reporter Server failed to get configuration information from the Eventia Reporter Server. Verify that Eventia Reporter was properly installed and thereafter restart the Eventia Reporter server" I checked the Eventia Reporter service was running properly and restarted it with no problem directly at the Windows services window, using "evstop/evstart -reporter" commands and even "cpstop/cpstart" commands with same results. No error messages at all are shown during any of these restart procedures. Since the error said something about "being properly installed", I removed Eventia Reporter from "add/remove programs" and reinstalled it using the R65 installation disk, but the problem remains. I could not find anything about this message in the Secure Knowledge. ¿Has anybody seen this before? Any ideas will be very appreciated.
