It seems everyone is finding out that quality URL filtering is a lot of work. So they raise the pricetag. And the fact that more and more companies require URL filtering makes sure they can do so. In my view I still prefer Check Point as IP firewall. I will use a Blue Coat for proxy and stick a URL filter of choice on it. For AV scanning the webtraffic I would prefer IWSS from Trend Micro. It now allows you to build a very granular sort of filtering based on your existing user credentials. And for email a dedicated system to stop SPAM and malware. It is a bit more costly then sticking it all on a Check Point box. But it works soooooooooooo much better. I think the extra pricetag is well worth the amount of trouble you save. The few AV customers take more resources from our support team then the few P1 customers.
