Hi, I'm wondering if anyone here has hands-on experience on setting up a Site-to-Site VPN as a *backup* solution for a private WAN link, basically Static VPN routing.
I have a private MPLS link between two Checkpoint VPN-1 sites. I'd like to have traffic go through the VPN automatically without any intervention should the MPLS link go down. Since we're talking about a small setup, I wouldn't want to use dynamic routing. Would it be possible to set up route-based VPNs and then set this route with a lower priority then the route used for the MPLS network? Will the firewall able to automatically detect that a MPLS link be down and use the lower priority route?
