If you can stick in a USB external CD drive instead of the internal SATA
CD drive you should be good to go.

The answer was rather clear. Show the business case. If you can sell a
couple of dozen of firewalls if they can support the hardware and you
loose the deal without it then you might get a custom image. They will
not do this for free.

On the other hand I have in effect recreated such a CD at least once in
the past. The hard bit is to build the exact kernel driver for a 2.6
kernel. But with the 2.4 kernel it is a breeze.
