The messages in the log are:

Reason: Virus scan failed: Timed out.

So I'm suspecting it is due to these being the bigger update files, like
most of the service packs which can easily be a couple of hundred meg in
file size.

The system is a new 270 appliance. Anybody else have clues on how this
should get fixed??

Also trying to do an update of Smart Defense takes a couple of hours to
run, which doesn't seem right either. I suspect this is just more clues.
