As you know the Checkpoint firewall product is changing continuosly. We
were using firewall and vpn modules which were enough some of us were
using smartdefense then can came antivirus and antispam to get into utm
concept. After software blade architecture was announced and recently
R75 was released which gives options to use new blades/modules like dlp,
application control , endpoint security, policy change management etc.
Since these changes can bring new system requeriments,i wanna talk about
hardware.
1- Have you recently (last 1 year ?) changed your hardware which
Checkpoint run on and if so what were the reasons?
2- Have you changed your Checkpoint installation, like if available
removing some modules from the previous , and installing some components
to additional boxes?
3- What are your experiences& thoughts with Checkpoint appliances vs
Open servers
4- If you ever found a bottleneck on your Checkpoints what were they and
if releated with the hardware which components were the bottlenecks.
