please check if dns works on that machine and internet access is allowed.
starting R70 checkpoint uses .net for the GUI and it seems windows is
checking some certificates of DLLs when starting the CP-GUI ...

is running on same server as management server the smart dashboard
times out several times before connecting. I am running radius
authentication and captured traffic to and from radius server which
doesn't cause any delay. management server is running on win2k3 and
doesn't have a high proc or memory utilization.
i have tried increasing gui client timeout as well but same problem.
