FYI - below is the procedure I use
for SecuRemote & AOL 6.0:
-----------------------------------
Tips for using SecuRemote with AOL (Windows 9x & Windows Me only)
1. Dial-up AOL, and verify that it works fine without SecuRemote installed
2. Install SecuRemote on all Network Adapters
---reboot---
3. Attempt to dial-up AOL (this won't work, but this step is REQUIRED anyway)
---reboot---
4. User regedit.exe to insert the below two new string values within
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\netTrans\000n
where "n" is the TCP/IP binding associated with "AOL Adapter":
Value Name: MaxMTU
Data Type: String
DATA 576
Value Name: MaxMSS
Data Type: String
DATA 536
---reboot---
5. Set "IP Packet Size" to "Small" for "Dial-Up Adapter" & "Dial-Up Adapter #2"
(do this via Control Panel -> Network -> Dial-Up Adapter -> Properties ->
Advanced)
---reboot---
6. AOL will now work in conjunction with SecuRemote
*** No changes are required to use SecuRemote with AOL under Windows 2000 ***

AOL seems to cause problems with the IP stack that may result in VPNs no
longer working.
I found it necessary to reload the O/S to restore VPN client functionality.
Further information can be found on Prodigy's website on this issue.
Good luck!!

Subject: [FW1] VPN using AOL6?
I have a user here that uses AOL for their internet access. They just had
the latest AOL6.0 installed on their laptop and now the VPN software is not
working. It appears that Securemote cannot bind to the AOL adapter...
Has anyone had any success getting Securemote working with AOL 6 on a
Windows 98 machine? I don't want to beat my head against the wall if it's
not going to work at all. I may have to back them down to version 5.0 or
get them a *real* internet account...
Joe
