Hmm, what?s about ${FWDIR}/database ?

Save the following essential files:
To backup the Network Objects, save: $FWDIR/conf/objects.C
To backup the Rule Base, save: $FWDIR/conf/*.W
To backup all Rule Bases save: $FWDIR/conf/rulebases.fws
To backup User Database, save: $FWDIR/database/fwauth.NDB

I have never needed to backup anything in the database directory before. I
usually find that once you re-apply the rules everything is fine. In other
words it's not a 100% perfect snapshot, but once you start the firewall
again, and apply the rulebase you are back to a fully working firewall.
If you also add 'ipconfig /all > ipconfig.txt' and 'route print -p
routes.txt' you can reconfigure your lan boards and static routes when

Subject: [FW1] FW1 Backup on NT4

Hi,

I am trying to make a cold backup machine for our firewall. It currently
runs FW1 on NT4 and i do not know which files to copy over onto the new
machine to set this up. I've checked on checkpoints site but can't find any
documentation. The machine is setup with the same IP's etc as the origional
so i just need to copy over all of the objects etc.

Any ideas?

thanks

Tom
