you need to turn on IP forwarding either through /etc/sysconfig/network or
through /etc/sysctl.conf

Subject: [FW1] Packet unforwarding : Firewall-1 on Redhat 6.2

Hi lists,

I could install FireWall on Redhat6.2 Kernel 2.2.14-5.0.
But I'm getting another problem.

The problem is...
After starting F/W module (fwstart) ,
the kernel on F/W machine doesn't understand its routing table.

I mean,
I installed a security Policy which is
Source=ANY  Destination=ANY  Service=ANY Action=Accept
Installon=Firewall-1 object.

I set default gateway to a router which is connected to
F/W and the Internet.

But NO packet from a Client in internal LAN to Internet
is  transferred.

I tried to traceroute from the Client to a server in Internet,
But these packets were stopped at F/W.
Also , tracerouting on F/W to the same Internet Sever,
no transferred at all.

The client can connect Only F/W and the Internal I/F of router
(without External I/F).

If I stop F/W modules , the client can connect the Internet.

So it seems that kernel with F/W module
doesn't see network table.

Is there anyone who had same problem and solved ?

Thanks
