hello list,
ive updated one managment fw and one fw module from SP2 to SP5. the fw-1s
are based on
solaris 2.7 with patch cluster 106541-12.

a # ./fw ver -k says:
This is Check Point VPN-1(TM) & FireWall-1(R) Version 4.1 Build 41510 [VPN
+ DES + STRONG]
kernel: Version 4.1 [VPN + DES + STRONG] Build 41512

i got a first strange when I try to install a policy:

Installing Security Policy Standard on [EMAIL PROTECTED]
hostaddr(gate_1.XXXX.de) failed: Bad file number

What about this "Bad file number" - when I changed the firewall object
from gate_1 to gate_1.XXXX.de the error doesnt appear anymore?! ...and
I cant rename encryption hosts so easily or not?? maybe there is another
way to solve this problem because I dont want to rename all the
fw-objects...

second problem I have is that I cant install a new policy on the fw-modul
when i try to install a new policy i got:

Downloading Security Policy /opt/CPfw1-41/conf/gate_2.011026-1.pf to gate_2
Failed to open file '/opt/CPfw1-41/tmp/gate_2.fwrl.conf': No such file or
directory
fw_readfiles:cannot open gate_2.fwrl.conf: No such file or directory
Failed to Download Security Policy on cgn-lar02: No such file or directory
Installing Security Policy on cgn-lar02 failed

WHY RESOLVES FW-1 FW-OBJECTS USING HOSTS OR DNS??? in my case i only have
to
change my /etc/hosts so that the first entry is the right fw-object name -

is there any way to disable this bothering feature???

thanks!
bye
andre
