I've seen http://www.phoneboy.com/faq/0394.html which says PPP
interfaces are not supported under Linux, but did not find anything
about it in Check Point KB.

Was anyone trying to work around it? Any success?

I've tried everything I was able to think of -- starting the ppp
interface before fw, restarting the interface or the firewal, trying
both 'ppp deny' and 'ppp accept' in /etc/fw.boot/ifdev but nothing
really works. When the ppp interface connects and I try some pings,
tcpdump sees ICMP packets leaving and replies coming back, however the
firewall sees neither and the replies don't get through.

fw ctl iflist shows ppp0, fw stat -i -l shows it as well but no packets
are being counted on it.

I'd be grateful for any ideas.

greetings,
Hanus Adler
