I've done some work with the 3005 connecting to software-based
clients. It's a nice box. The 3.X "Unity" client is the best client I've
used (also supports OSs other than Windows) -- configuration is very simple
on end-user side -- config parameters are downloaded from the
concentrator. Has the best web-based interface I've seen on a Cisco box
(because Cisco didn't do it -- came from Altiga). :-)

I originally was going to go with a PIX using 6.X software because these do
all the firewall stuff *and* supports the 3.X client. However, and they
don't tell you this *anywhere*, although the PIX does now support the 3.X
client, it's missing a lot of the important features such as IPSec through
UDP and TCP tunnels (important for remote sites using NAT/PAT).
Hopefully this will be fixed soon

Jon
