But it doesn't work for the lates Sun platforms as there're Blade 100
(UltraSPARC IIe), Netra t1 AC200 (UltraSPARC IIe) and 280R (UltraSPARC III).
It's not possible to run 32-bit mode even with the mentioned eeprom setting
as Solaris 8 doesn't install 32-bit kernel for those platforms during its
installation, only 64-bit kernel. So you can't boot it...
The one and only way to solve this situation is to run Solaris 8, 64-bit and
FW-1 NG FP2...or to downgrade to older systems (which is not really an
alternative).

I think you have to set eeprom boot-file setting to kernel/unix to boot in
32bit mode. isainfo -kv will tell you what kernel you are running.

Subject: [FW-1] FW-1 4.1 on SUN 280R

Greetings,

Does anyone know if FireWall-1 v4.1 SP5 will run on a Sun 280R? My UNIX
admins cannot find a way to get Solaris 8 on a 280R to downgrade from 64 bit
to 32 bit. If anyone knows how to force the kernel to 32 bit, I would be
greatly appreciative!
