4.1 SP6

I am at 4.1 SP5

You need at least 4.1 SP4 to upgrade to NG.

I am upgrading from 4.1 SP5, solaris 7 to NG FP3, solaris 8
tomorrow. My testing indicates that a mere OS upgrade is
not good enough because the NG FP3 CD was created in a
solaris 8 environment. Libraries are missing.

So

0. SAVE EVERYTHING
1 cd /
        tar cf /somewheresafe/fw1.tar
2. solaris 8 install
        patch
boot 32 bit OS because of 4.1
3. Checkpoint 4.1, SP5 install
4. cd /
        tar xf /somewheresafe/fw1.tar
5. Get verifier software
        Run pre-verifier
        fix stuff
6. install NG FP3 cd
        cd /cdrom
        ./UnixInstallScript
7 run post verifier
8. boot 64 bit OS, OK now because of NG
