Is this a static VPN?  If so, ping the internal interface of the remote VPN gateway.  Do something like, three timeouts in a row = page.

I am running FW1 v4.1 SP5a. Can anyone help me to set up an Alert when a VPN connection fails but the Firewall is still running. I need this to send an email to an SMS gateway.
