I would like to ask the group for pros and cons, and their views on selecting a future platform for CP firewalls, either as single gateways or as modules.
A client needs to decide which platform will be used to host enforcement modules/single gateways in the future. Current candidates are SecurePlatform, plain Linux, or W2K. Support personnel is mostly familiar with NT/W2K, but they are capable of learning Linux too :-) Some points to consider are: Security/difficulty of hardening the platform (pls, no holy OS wars) Stability Popularity of use in said capacity ease of management/remote management CP future plans for the platform cost updating (security wise) needed anything else you may want to add TIA, Shimon Silberschlag +972-3-9352785 +972-51-207130 ================================================= To set vacation, Out Of Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
