Don't copy everything from $fwdir/conf, try just these files. But I don't' know if there is a compatibility issue.
$FWDIR/conf/objects.C $FWDIR/conf/*.W $FWDIR/conf/rulebase.fws $FWDIR/database/fwauth.NDB* Note: If you don't have users or firewall encryption don't copy fwaunt.NDB If you have user database it has to be exported, if this fail users has to be recreated manually. If you are using firewall for encryption, keys have to be regenerated. -----Original Message----- From: Kamalan Govender [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, January 16, 2003 6:07 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [FW-1] FP2 Upgrade Question On Wed, 2003-01-15 at 17:56, Kamalan Govender wrote: > I have the following setup. > Solaris 8 and FW1 with FP1, and a Linux machine > which I upgraded to FW1 FP2 (backup). > > Then I make a tar-ball of /$FWDIR/conf on the Solaris Machine and > copied the tar to the Linux machine. > > Removed all cables from Sun machine and plugged in Linux machine. > > I though that I could bring up the Linux machine with the > same policy, but this did not work. Any ideas as to why? Also when I connect to the Linux server via Policy Editor, I get the error "Incompatible version of server" after I enter my username and password. > > -- > Kamalan Govender <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ================================================= To set vacation, Out Of Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] ================================================= - This message (including any attachments) contains confidential information intended for a specific individual and purpose, and is protected by law. - If you are not the intended recipient, you should delete this message and are hereby notified that any disclosure, copying, or distribution of this message, or the taking of any action based on it, is strictly prohibited. ================================================= To set vacation, Out Of Office, or away messages, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the BODY of the email add: set fw-1-mailinglist nomail ================================================= To unsubscribe from this mailing list, please see the instructions at http://www.checkpoint.com/services/mailing.html ================================================= If you have any questions on how to change your subscription options, email [EMAIL PROTECTED] =================================================
