Dear All,

I'm revisiting this subject after the various emails on the subject.....

I'm looking at removing .exe .com .vbs and .zip extension based email
attachments and from my tests it would look like all I'd need to put in to
the smtp resource would be a match on application/octet-stream.

However upon further investigation it would appear that although when I
send myself a .doc file the email contains application/msword and certainly
some excel email's I've intercepted have application/msexcel (or something
like that) this is not true for all .doc's or .xls's.

Some I've discovered use the application/octet-stream so I'm confused what
makes a .doc a octet-stream rather than a /msword surely the mimetype is
applied due to the extension ?

Paul.
