Hi there,

I'm currently investigating the possible uses of logical servers.
Some facts are still not clear after reading the manual.
The most important is: How is the round trip messurement done?
For example, when I set up a SMTP resource to deliver mail to a
locigal SMTP server, which actually is a group of servers with round
trip load balancing, how does FW-1 notice that a server is not
responding? Does it test the round trip time with a mere ping or is it
using the service port (25 in this case) for messuring the delay?

I want to be sure that this balancing function recognizes not only
when a server goes done but also when the service is out of function.

Any comments are welcome.

Ciao,

Joerg
