I am using telnet (port 259) to the firewall to authenticate users and allow
access through our firewall. I have the firewall setup so that the telnet
session on the users PC must remain open for access. Once the telnet
session is closed the connection is closed by the firewall. (I think this
is wait mode on the firewall).
The problem I have is no Windows 95 clients the telnet sessions loose
connections at random. Some very quickly some after quite a while. Windows
2000 machines appear to be OK. I have set the timeout options on the
firewall to infinite.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening or ways of fixing it. All
help/advice would be greatly received.
The firewall version is 4.1 on NT 4.0 SP5. All normal NT services have been
disabled and WINS bindings removed from adapters.
