Hi there,
Im surely not that Linux expert but what I can tell you from my todays
"going life" is that it works on linux!
OK, you all are trying to use RedHat and me, poor german guy ;-), I have to
use SuSE 6.3. But maybe this is the difference....
I admit that I spent more time installing FW-1 on Linux than on NT or
Solaris but what I like the most on Linux is that I can compile the kernel
just the way I like it.
Looking on the performance I cant tell if it is "that fast" because I never
had it running on a Dual-PIII/500.
About the rc-level script "S01fw1boot":
FW-1 installed it self at rc2.d and it works even before S0xNetwork is
started. I guess this has to be because FW-1 has to take control before
routing is enabled.
I would appreceate if more of you write down your experiance since Linux, in
my opinion, gives you more posibilities to "play" than OSs that are already
"baked".
