Been following this thread , and just wondered if there are any good books
out there for Checkpoint FW 1.
ISBN numbers would be useful.
Thanks

Subject: [FW1] Fw1 on linux. Don't bother.

I started out with trying this on 6.2 with the 2.2.13 kernel as they
recommend that kernel and says it wont work with anything newer.
On a dual pentium III 550, with 512 megs of ram, an intel ether express pro
onboard, and dual eexpress off board, scsi on board but not enabled..
First, they install fw-1 with S01 as the rc3 init.. Well duh you can't load
it before the network, so you have to hand move this to S15.
With an SMP kernel, and without.. the machine kernel panics after a few
minutes if the firewall module is loaded.
The logging is poor, they have barely ANY documentation on it, and after
trying it on redhat 6.1 and redhat 6.0, and failing on both, I've decided
that this beta is terrible.
Everything you have all said is bad as well, doesn't sound like anyone can
get it running. What are they thinking?
