Hi,
For a couple of days now, I'm trying to figure out why we can't connect to
our internal webserver.
I can connect to it when I type in the IP, but not with the DNS name.
Nslookup and ping -a (PTR records are ok) are working both on the client and
firewall-1.
When I put the name of the webserver in the host file of the firewall, it
also works (because it won't have to use DNS anymore).
We use the firewall http "proxy" services on our clients, I know that I can
bypass local addresses etc in the browser settings to make it work, but then
I have to change every client, and I want to avoid that.
Surfing to the outside world works fine.
The Primary DNS of our firewall and clients is on our internal segment
(caching DNS server), which forwards it's requests to the DNS server at our
provider.
I can't see any drops or rejects in the logging.
Anyone knows what is going on ?
The webserver (IIS4) is on the same segment as the firewall.
We're running Firewall-1 v4.0 SP4 on a NOKIA440 with the management server
on NT.
Met vriendelijke groeten,
Nico Geerts
