Depending on your bandwidth requirements, an Ultra 60 with the amount of ram
you are using should be more than adequate for a 200 user shop. Especially
if you are not doing any encryption. If you are looking at future needs and
those include VPN and some level of encryption then you need to start
looking at your CPU speeds. The stronger the level of encryption, i.e.
3des, the more CPU you will need. For just straight throughput Sun has
claimed 1 mb of throughput to 1.5 mhz of CPU so a 300mhz CPU should get you
about 150 mb aggregate throughput. Add FW1 onto that and you see a drop in
throughput. Then you start looking at how complicated your rule set is and
what sort of application your users are doing through your firewall. The
picture gets pretty difficult to equate to a minimum and optimum, that is
why I think you won't find anyone who will give you a straight answer.

We use an Ultra 5 for a management server for 2 Ultra 60 firewalls. No
problem. As far as the logs, yes they would be stored on the Ultra 5.
However we move them to a log server.
