I am trying to run FW-1 4.1sp1 on Solaris 2.6 (Ultra 5). I have a FORE ATM
card installed with version 4.1 of the drivers.
What has conspired so far: I can get the ATM card to work under FW-1 3.x
and 4.0sp5. If I upgrade from 4.0sp5 to 4.1sp1 or blow it all away and do
a fresh install I get the same result. A reboot will result in this
message being printed during the fw1boot phase:
FW-1: fwstrmodwput: loading default filter on hme0 (1)
FW-1: i/f qaa0 (qaa0) is not found in table (80206910)
WARNING: this interface is not monitored by FireWall-1
FW-1 IP: FW-1 has a problem registering an interface configuration
command (80206910) - blocked.
After that, it just sits there forever. The first line is normal, then
next two are the clincher. If I boot from CD and remove
/etc/rcS.d/S25fw1boot, the machine will come up and I can ping addresses
over the ATM, but when I run ifconfig -a, it panics. And of course, the
FW won't monitor that interface anyway.
Has anyone else seen this problem before? How did you fix it?
Thanks,
Wayne
