Hi Dallas

Thanks to your and everyone else that replied ! In the meantime I've found the TenFour
Homepage and a German distributor for the product. So far, the features of the E-mail
firewall look quite impressive, I was looking for another content screening solution
anyway...

Does the TenFour hold up well in comparsion with Trend Micro? And does it work well
together with FW-1?

Cheers
Ralf

Ralf:

First, you don't want to run this type of service on the firewall. It
should be handled by a SMTP relay server located in the DMZ.

Next, yes I'm familiar with the TenFour SMS product, and can vouch for its
ability to handle PGP messages, plus lots more. You can set it to control
inbound/outbound content (strip VBS files), use it in conjunction with
various anti-virus platforms, and alot more.

I'm not an employee of the company, but I've done work where it's installed
-- including some real big networks. We're just in the process of setting
it up on our network.

You'll find that it works (directory synch) Lotus Notes/Domino, Exchange,
and GroupWise -- plus alot of other products.

If you need specific details let me know.

Regards!!!

Subject: [FW1] PGP add-on for FW-1?
Date: Wed, 07 Jun 2000 13:58:38 +0200

Management has come up with another great idea: They want to exchange
PGP-encrypted messages with our partners -which is surely a good idea at
first.

But they want to spare the user the encryption/decryption-handling. They
want the firewall to do it instead.

My questions

- Is this a reasonable idea? What about ruining the FW performance?
- What products are available to do this and do they use the CVP protocol?
- Has anyone ever heard of "TenFourSecurity Server"?

Thanks a lot for any feedback
Cheers
Ralf G.
