Hi.

Found the information on phoneboys site but i'm still stuck with this error
message when i run the command.

# echo "fw_heap_size/W 800000" | ./adb -w $FWDIR/modules/fwmod.4.x.o
warning: Adb does not support the aix 4.3 core file format. Change core dump
format to dump in the pre-430 style.

Any idea how to solve this ?

We have FW-1 4.0 running on AIX 4.3.3

Regards

Johan

On www.phoneboy.com under the firewall faqs there is a page on that. Search
for "halloc" and it will be the first response that comes up.

All info is in there... Good luck, We had same problem at one customer,
the final decision was to remove Check Point from AIX. Some months it
worked fine, others it barely worked.

Subject: [FW1] Memory problems on AIX

Hi.

I got some problems. (yea me too).

On Check Point's FAQ there is a description on how to increase FW-1
memory usage on Solaris and NT but not on AIX 4.3.3

Can anyone help me with this ?

Our system FW memory usage is currently 3 Mb (default) and it is at is
peak. (fw ctl pstat) tells me that.

I also get the error message " no space left to install policy" any
ideas ?? Memory problems ??

The last problem i have is that when i use the log utility and set more
than one selection criteria it uses all the CPU power on the management
system (currently the same as the FW-1)

Regards

Johan
