The sync interval is adjustable, but it will not buy you anything.
Regardless of how frequently "sync" occurs, it takes a minimum of
55ms to update the state tables. This means you could sync every
ms and still not sync fast enough to support asymmetric connections.
Aside from that, the state sync process is a very resource intensive
process, especially if done too frequently.
