Time to time I see mails regarding traffic shaping tools / Bandwidth
management products
in this mailing list . Can someone point me/tell me the various options available in
the
area of Internet traffic/bandwidth management for small organization having capacity
like
T1 line or below. There are few products in market Cisco 7206VXR, NetScreen (Cheap
box
but looks good) etc.
These products are either very costly or they are almost complete Firewall.
Checkpoint's
Floodgate is also a very costly product and may be fit for T3 line or so , but not for
T1.
So I am looking for low cost solution, and current aim is just to allocate traffic
based
on hosts. Features like bandwidth management based on particular URL (web server
goodies)
. Yes Yes! I am asking more but wants to pay less. So if you guys can share some
thoughts
here would very helping to me.
Custom Solutions, shareware, freeware and solution based on Linux (if any for bandwidth
management) are also welcome.
