I have a client that I'm trying to help them get SecureRemote to run on a
Windows 98 Second Edition box. She's connected to a DSL line through
Network Telesystems PPOE Enternet 100 software.
The PPPOE software is binded to a 3COM 3C905B 10/100 ethernet card and works
fine. We can connect to the internet fine.
Install the SecureRemote 4.1 version of the software. It creates the FW1
adapters
1 through 4. Once we go back into the PPPOE software, the only adapters I can
bind to are FW1 from one through four, and of course, the PPOE software doesn't
connect.
My questions are:
1. I've seen postings on this list that some have been able to make this work.
If you have, which version of SecureRemote are you using? I'm planning
to try
4157. Also, which version of the NTS PPOE software are you using?
2. Is it worth just throwing a router out there to handle the PPOE and then
Secure Remote may work?
Any info would be appreciated.
