Title: RE: [FW1] Oracle and secuRemote connection through Internet

Phoneboy has a good doc on setting up SecuRemote, check it out at www.phoneboy.com. As far as Oracle, the only main concern we ran into was the the use of named pipes instead of TCP/IP connection under the ODBC settings. Always use TCP/IP for "slow" connections. Otherwise you may get timeouts.  I would use what every encryption scheme best suits for written security policy and how important the data being transfered is. But FWZ is the easiest to setup.

Subject: [FW1] Oracle and secuRemote connection through Internet

Hi all,

I've network of NT4.0 with SP5 and FW-1 4.0  with SP6
and secuRemote 4.0.

The Oracle server 8.i lies within localnet with
invalid ip address.I wan't to connect this server to
download data using snapshot through my remote sites
using secuRemote.

I've newly setup FW-1 and there is no rules otherthan
SMTP.

What should I do to work it and how?And I'm looking
for any documents or address regarding secuRemote
setup and Oracle.
Which enc is better for it?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Tika
