Hi,

I had a very similar problem and spent days trying to find out what was
going on. In my case, it was due to a licensing problem: when installing
SecuRemote, my error was to check the box "Install Desktop Security Support".
When checking this box, you activate Secure Client instead of SecuRemote but
the former needs a license to be used. The result is that I kept getting
the following:
 - a log at the firewall showing a successful "Phase 1" negotiation and nothing
   more;
 - at the client I got a "Error: Communication with site myfirewall has failed";
 - with snoop I was seeing no response from the firewall to the IKE negotiation;
 - absolutely no message indicating a license issue (!!!).

I kept getting these even when disactivating the security policies at the
SecuRemote end.
Re-installing the SecuRemote without checking this box fixed my problem.

Hope this helps,

Denis Lebeuf
