Ok, this definately has not been my week...
The hw/sw:
Sun 2.6, Ultra 60 512mb Ram
Fw-1 3.0 SP8
fw:fwhmem = 0x800000
Hme is internal net
Quad Card for extranets
Ive "inherited" the system, no prior documentation or knowledge of the
history of the system
The problem:
Telnetting through and into the firewall, is slow, and jerky in speed.
36% average ping loss to the internal and external nic's.
FTP transfers through the firewall die,
Information:
netstat -i shows around 220 million output errors, uptime is 42 days, before
reboot
After reboot, netstat -i shows no output errors, or input errors from the
external side.
On the internal nic it shows 2631 out of 700,000 packets.
Any ideas? Routing issue on the border routers surrounding the firewall?
Solaris Networking issue? Checkpoint?
