We had a similar problem. Symptom Connect and log on to FTP server on DMZ
which then gave that error when we tried to run a command such as DIR. It
actually transpired not to be a problem with Passive FTP but a problem with
SYNDEFENDER. Setting it from Active to none or passive solved the problem. A
'feature' of CP1

Hope it helps

Subject: [FW1] Passive FTP

HI !

Is Anyone having the solution for the following.

Any --> Firewall --> Passive FTP Server

The above is the scenario of the setup. In a rule base the following alone
added.

Any FTP Server Port 21 Accept Long log

The above setup is working well and very often, saying after initial logon
to FTP Server (error : connection closed by remote host)
Can anyone explain the setups to close this issue permanently. I believe,
the stateful inspection model of CheckPoint opens (high ports) as and when
required for communication. Then this connection will be closed.

Can anyone suggest this and do the needful,

Thanks and regards,
