This is still true, but you probably want to know how to disable the message.
On some versions (forget which) you should be able to change the variable
named fw_modify_verify in fwmod.o. You need zap, adb, etc to change it from a
1 to a 0 or a 0 to a 1 (I can't remember which). I'll have to check and update
the FAQ entry with the correct information.
You can also use the 'fw ctl debug -buf' trick to disable these messages.
