Jesus,

The sequence above, is that from the remote
SMTP server or from yours to them?

This may not be direct help, but reading through
RFC793 will help you understand this sequence
of packets.

Usually a RST is sent when there is a problem.

If you can sniff the connection, check to see if
the sequence number is correct or if the ack is
for something else.

I'm sure others(e.g. more experienced) can help
here if I've missed/misstated anything.
