Yes, usually EBGP peering between internal core and external routers will
work well. I have done this at several sites.
It also pulls dynamic routing off the fw.

You should look into BGP - Border Gateway Protocol.
Check with your current ISP and research other
ISP's about BGP. Cisco has some very good doc's
on the subject, as do many other sites. You might
want to check into ARIN(arin.net).
