Dear Checkpoint Firewall gurus,

We are upgrading our Firewall server hardware from
Sparc 20/Solaris 2.6 to Server 220R/solaris 2.7 with
both running Checkpoint V4.0 and having problem to
install the "BACKUP" policy (from backup tape) on the
new server and would appreciate if anyone of you give
me some hints, tips how to overcome that.

Please NOTE:

(1) The new server 220R is OFFLINE (NOT connecting to
the network)
(2) We do NOT have the X-Window console and so I used
my labtop as the dump terminal however I can use the
Security Policy Client GUI to config the policy

The following are what I did

(1) Installed & configured Firewall license, gui ...
using the command

        # $FWDIR/bin/fwconfig

(2) Restored the Firewall policy files from the backup
tape according to the Firewall manual

        ie.: $FWDIR/conf/objects.C
                $FWDIR/conf/fwauth.NDB
                $FWDIR/conf/my-local-policy.W

(3) Load "my-local-policy.W" file

        # $FWDIR/bin/fw load my-local-policy.W

(4) After started the Policy Security GUI client
(from my LAPTOP) I could NOT see "my-local-policy.W"
in the Open Local Policy Window. It means I could NOT
install
"my-local-policy.W" policy.

So please advise what else needs to be done to
overcome that problem. I know that if I have X-Windows
console I can browse the "my-local-policy.W" and
install from there but unfortunately
I do NOT have.

Regards,

Trung Nguyen
