Hi,
After I plumbed a new interface on a 4.0 firewall with SP5 I get the
following
message continuously on the console.
FW-1 IP: An interface configuration command has been issued, but the
FW-1 driver could not be informed.
This may be due to the driver being removed from the systme,
or a failure of the fw bootd process.
If this message keeps appearing after rebooting the machine,
please contact Check Point technical support.
This message can be safely ignored in the following cases:
FW-1 has just been uninstalled or upgraded and has not been
rebooted yet
or
The machine is now in single user mode.
This message will be suppressed for the next 127 times
NOTE: The firewall was stopped with an "fwstop" before I plumbed the
interface. The
system was rebooted, it came back with the defaultfilter loaded. I unloaded
the
defaultfilter, opened the rulebase and did a get on the firewall object's
interface and
reloaded the policy, rebooted the firewall. Still it comes back with the
same message
and has the defaultfilter loaded after the boot. System is not in single
user mode.
The device in question is an hme device and the /etc/fw.boot/ifdev file has
"hme accept"
in it. What could be the problem ?
