I have an issue with a VFM with the above symptom. Here is the environment:
Pentium III server w/512MB RAM
VFM v4.1SP1
NT 4.0, appropriately hardened
20-rule policy
T1 Internet pipe, reports indicate no more than 400k ever utilized at a time
The processor pegs at 100% (caused by fw.exe) for 10-15 minutes at a time,
drops back to normal (0-10%) for a few minutes, then repeats the cycle.
Outbound http can be up to 56k-modem-slow while the processor is at 100%.
Any ideas, thoughts or suggestions are appreciated. TIA.
