Subject: [FW1] ADSL and PPPoE
Hi all,
I recently acquired DSL at home and try to use Secure Remote 4153 on my
windows 98 machine. I had already follow steps but it still not helping me.
The following is from Phoneboy website:
* Install SR on all adapters - (which you have to anyway)
* Unbind the FW1 Prot from the NIC after reboot
* Check to see TCP/IP has not disappeared for the NIC (Normal TCP/IP - add
it back if so)
* Remove TCP/IP for the PPPoE adapter (I found that was the main problem)
* Make sure there is an entry for the FW1 adapter bound to the PPPoE adapter
and an entry for TCP/IP bound to the FW1(PPPoE) adapter
* In the enternet software, under properties for the connection make sure
you choose the NIC as the adapter not an FW1 adapter.
If I install Enternet 300 first then install secure remote after that, I
can't get internet connection.
However, If I install the Secure remote first then Enternet 300, I can
authenticate with VPN at work. However, I can't go beyond that.
The questions:
1) Do I have to install the enternet300 first or last?
2) Can I have in a plain english or picture (snap shot) on each network
property changes? I did removed TCP/IP for the PPPoE adapter as mention
above butit still not working.
3) Am I missing something that I have not done?
Thanks in advance
zinc
