Hardware platform: Sun Ultra 5, 128MB RAM, Solaris 7, Firewall-1 4.0 VPN + DES.
Scenario: Three offices, connected via Firewall-1 VPN at each site on similar Sun platforms (different memory configs only). Windows NT networks in all sites. VPN appears to be working well.....
Problem: File copying and FTP between sites will timeout, if routed through firewall, but if public addresses are used we can FTP and copying enormous amounts of data. Same also applies to Windows Terminal Server - timeout after 5 mins, even if you are using it continuously! We can switch to either ISDN backup or take the firewall out of the equation and everything works perfectly! But as soon as we introduce the firewall again......
Rules: There doesn't seem to be an issue with the rules. We are using SKIP as the method of encryption for the VPN and FWZ for SecureRemote.
Additional info: Intranet access works well as does email transfer (Exchange Site Connectors), although X400 does not work! (which is what we would prefer to use).
Anyone had similar problems? (and had them resolved?!)
Any help given, would be gratefully accepted.
