You
could do this one of two ways.
1)
Open up the NBT set of ports between the two servers and the Exchange Ports (Not
100% sure that these are the explicitly the required ones but its a
start).
2)
Only open up the SMTP port between the two servers and connect the two sites via
SMTP ... This does work as I have it running. There is a Technet article:
Q196927 on how to do it. This is somewhat more secure than option
1.
