We have been running the Rainwall Enterprise v1.3 build 38 product with
Firewall 4.1 sp1 on Sparc Solaris7 for about 5 months. I have found the
support at Rainfinity, along with their knowledge of the Checkpoint
Firewall, to be good.
While not extensive, we did test the fail over by running a ping from the
internal network to the Internet. When unplugging an interface from one of
the firewalls the Virtual IP did fail over to the other firewall and vice
versa. There were no pings lost. Also telnet, ftp, and Xterm sessions were
not lost. We have also since taken a firewall out of the group and
performed minor upgrades then re-joined it to the group and followed with
upgrading the second firewall with no lost sessions/complaints. This was
done once during production hours.

My 2 cents.

Has anyone tried the Rainfinity product for FW-1 Load Balancing? Any ideas
of how it performed in any of your tests would be helpful...

thanks
