>All the cables are pluggedin , one to the localnetwork on a 10/100 hub , and
the other to an ADSL router.

2: THe Firewall can see both internal and external sites and machine
3: when i try and ping the machine internally by their name , it seems like
it is trying to use the ADSL interface, and does not contact them, but i can't
contact internet sites.

5: the internal sites do have the firewall set as their gateways.
and when i snoop on the firewall , i can see their requests for ping
www.yahoo.com , come through the internal interface. but the do not pass out
through the external interface when i snoop that.

6: Not sure what you mean by this , explain please

7: yes that firewall it up

8: yes the rules are setup on the firewall,

ANy : ANy : drop ,

but if i change it to any : any : accept.

then i can see them pass thought the firewall on the log viewer, but the
solaris machine still does not pass them out to the ADSL router.

so i am stuck at this point,

thanks for all the help
