Tried using MS' LDAP V3 on Exchange 5.5 SP3 running on NT4.0SP5 to work with
Account Management Manager,
but seems Microsofts' implementation of std RFC based protocol is once again
MS' kludge.
I have no problem what so ever accessing LDAP with Outlook Express. What
comes to Account Management Manager,
it always fails. The logs in Exchange server clearly shows that binging of a
username was succesfull, but 'fetch' always
fails.
Anyone has any experience of this?
MS technet article states:
>Microsoft Exchange Server incorporates this protocol into the Directory
Service allowing LDAP compliant clients
>access to directory information. Microsoft Exchange Server only supports
the Read functions as specified in the RFC.
>LDAP is typically used by third-party clients who are requesting directory
information. None of the Microsoft
>Exchange Clients use LDAP to communicate with the Directory.
>Version Support
>There have been three versions of LDAP; v1, v2, and v3. Microsoft Exchange
supports v2, and most requests from v3
>LDAP clients. LDAP v3 is currently in draft.
Could be the above quatation doesn't apply to 5.5 version.
So, in theory this should work.
Account Management Manager reports with the following error msg:
Sorry, no branches could be retrieve from LDAP server.
Exchange servers LDAP msgs:
The filter for this LDAP search request is: ( = ). // Somehow seems it
doesn't understand queries provided AMM?
Anyone succesfully managed to do this with Exchange's LDAP?
