I'm just starting to look at MEP, so I have no
specifics. But I do know that the old CP Joe (see
http://bafug.synfin.net/Archives/joe/ ) has a
paper on it, and there are other references
on CP site. Also look at www.securepoint.com/fw1 

The 4.1 docs have some reading also.
