A good answer Thanks.
I will try to do that, but I need the sp8 for Firewall v3.0b for Solaris.
By FW-1 I try to duplicate was to that version.
Did someone have it? I need see it on the checkpoint maintenance licence WEB
server http://www.checkpoint.com/cgi-bin/download.cgi. And I not find It on
my network.

Objet : Re: [FW1] Changing the firwall computer
I recently changed hardware for our mgmt station and this is what I did.
Installed the same version of the firewall s/w on the new system.
tar'd the conf directory on the old firewall and moved it to the new one.
untar'd the file into the conf directory.
moved crypt.def from the old firewall to the new one.
After that was complete and the new firewall ran for a few days at the same
version, I then upgraded to 4.1 SP2
You can't move the objects from one firewall to a new one unless they are
at the same version and service pack. While what I did was for the
management station it should work on firewall/gateway modules as well.

[FW1] Changing the firwall computer
08/23/00 01:07 PM
Hi,
I want to change the computer of our firewall, and recover the Users,
Rules,
Objects, Encryption keys, etc. In fact, I need to recover all information
from our firewall to the new computer. I think the only thing that will be
different is the name of the network interfaces.
I try to find a doc on how to recover all information from one Firewall to
a
other, but failed.
I already installed a fresh new installed firewall on the new system
(Solaris 2.7). Almost forget to say, I change also the version of the
firewall. The old one was v3.0b (on a Sun Enterprise Ultra 1), and the new
one was v4.1 sp2 (on Enterprise 250).
Someone have already a doc on how to recover all config form one Firewall
server to a other ?
I already recover the objects, by merging it (Thanks to :
So I think I need these doc :
-Recover Rules
-Recover Users
-Recover Encryption Key (We use VPN)
Forget some other thing to recover?
Did we have some information we cannot recover and need to do it manualy?
Thanks
