Paul

I have a similar problem whereby I cannot delete user templates that I have
created.
I was told by my reseller that you need to do the following....

perform "fwstop" of the management station
perform a dbexport of the user database
remove the existing fwauth.NDB file
fwstart the management station
perform a dbimport of the user database

The syntax is "fw dbexport -f <filename>" where <filename> is the export file.
Only the users can be imported using "fw import" Groups must be created first.
Additional Templates can be created afterwards.

For this reason I have not performed this task as I do not want to trash my
exisitng Groups and Templates and don't have the time to manually re-created
everything.
Perhaps someone else could verify this please....

Cheers

Mike

Subject: [FW1] Management module/user templates

Hello all,

This is my first post to the list. I'm running 4.1 SP2 on an IP330 since
noon today, after migrating from 4.0 SP5 on NT 4.0. As part of the
migration, I imported the user database. My questions are:

  1. I have some user templates which I can't remove (I'm assuming because
there are user accounts based on those templates). Is there any way to
figure out which user accounts are based on which templates?

  2. I understand that FW-1 is not supported on NT Workstation, but does
anyone have an opinion about running just the Management module on that
platform? I'm going to eventually be implementing the HA solution, and
would like to use an existing NT4.0 Wks for that purpose.

Thanks!
